Got #1 yesterday morning and when i picked him up I said "Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam" !!!

I only had bathroom scales to go by but i weighed him 3 times and got 27 pounds  every time so that is close enough for me. I had 2 freshly killed clients birds here to compare with and he could easily have eaten them :lol3:

He ended up 27 lbs, 10" beard, and 1.25" sharp hooks. Too bad he took a backward flip into a deep creek so he looks kinda rough in the pic. I had my son get in the picture for a size reference.

He was with 3 other long beards, 10 jakes, and about 25 hens. I am lucky he came close enough first because I had already decided the first one to cross the 45 yard line was gonna get some 6's in the face :)

That's a monster!

I have to wait until April 27 for my hunt and I'm hoping to get my first turkey this year. *crosses fingers* We'll start scouting on Saturday. Though I did come across a nice tom while out rabbit hunting last Saturday. I was waiting at a brush pile full of bunny holes while the dog was working a track, when all of a sudden I saw movement behind some brush. It wasn't the bunny I was waiting for it was 4 hens and a nice tom. They ended up crossing the open withing shotgun range, looked at me, and just kept walking to the pines behind me. I was really surprised the didn't run or fly off.

CT at it's finest. All three in 90 minutes and each came in alone. What a morning. :hammer:
