Here's some pics of the Sept teal deal in M'sipi. Yeh it's too bad the little blue darters are eclipsed plumage this early. They are long gone by the time the season rolls around about Dec 1st. Only Greenwings around by then but they are full plumage....

Well, I went out today and shot 6 mallards... 3 of them in a row! They flushed one after another and I dropped them one after another, it was the single best moment of hunting I've experienced to date! Anyways, Up in my creek of the woods we share our kills with our hunting partners who do the paddling!!!

Second pic is of a recent Grouse expedition, 10 nice looking grouse!

Snake River Mallards, etc. from fairly big water. Too early for geese.
Image
Bruneau River Mixed bag... There's a broad front marsh where the river hits the reservoir but it gets a lot of pressure, so this day we went up one of the channels about a mile to get away and set up on a bend so birds could see us from two different angles. The channel is only twenty yards across so when the birds commit, as they ususally do when seeking a hiding spot, they come really close.

I didnt know what it was at first and me and a buddy looked it up, From what we saw it looked more like a hen eurasian widgeon, I could be wrong, we dont shoot to many ringnecks.
