Check out that link and tell me if that call is any good? I am just looking for a good started Mallard call.

Looks like a decent starter call, but a great stater is the quack head i-frame.

Where can I get a quackhead i-frame and how much does it cost? Should I get a acrylic call or is a poly ok? I have always just used a couple old wooden calls my grandpa gave me and only blow them when the ducks are a long ways away then shutup immediately and let them come in (mostly because I don't call very good.)

Anyone ever blow a Hayes Call? I have been looking at some of his Hayes calls and have read good things.

You can't go wrong with a Winglock Maple/Poly Double Reed. Get Keith Allen's Refugeman CD as well to boot. You should progress pretty fast with this CD; as long as the tools are there.

The Quackhead can be found at your local walmart or in any waterfowel catalog, also if you go to rntcalls.com you can listen to all of there calls. Personaly if you are a begginer the J-frame is the way to go, myself am moving up to the timber from a J-frame.
