We scouted a few areas previous to the long weekend of ducks that passes as an early season in RI.
The results of the scouting trips prompted us to not bother going when the season did open.
Really? Put why bother scouting if your not going to go out opening day or at all? Don't you just enjoy waterfowling to get out there? Equals a morning "scouting" with the gun!
I scouted a couple of spots, but alas my "early season" shooting completely sucked and I came home with zero birds and a couple of empty shells. Oh well, there is always the rest of the season. I however have been seeing what seems like the begin of the migration, every morning I see five or six large flocks of ducks flying over the bay going someplace.
maybe everyones bein tightlipped but her i didnt do too shabby. werent many ducks around opening day but those that were were not decoy shy. 2 greenies, a hen and a hen wigeon. went out day two of the season and shoulda brought a fishing pole instead. good luck to everyone during the upcoming season
