Painting mallard decoys

Postby Nomeite » Wed Nov 04, 2009 5:31 pm

I'm new to duck hunting I just recieved 12 G&H decoys and I have a question on painting the heads of them. This is going to sound stupid but do I need to paint the heads of the drekes because the mallards have not turned green by the time they leave my area of hunting? or can I just leave them the way they are.

I have both, later in the season we'll get some pretty good plummed out bird and i'll change out some later in the season but birds ain't that dumb and if you've got some deks just shineing there heads off your gonna flare them. So paint halve or semi plummed if you don't get any plummed birds your way/
