Oh if you're hunting Reelfoot the season is a little different. Look at the regulations I have announced at the top of the topics page.

Beats me, I'm on the other side of the state. I know there is some flooded timber and fields (whether the fields are public or not I don't know, I'm sure there are some on WMA's)

Heh completely forgot you said seymour... Most of the lakes around here are soft bottom. In places you can run into a rocky bottom though. I'll go ahead and tell you not to get your hopes up about East TN hunting, not many ducks here at all. You really got to scout to get on birds and 90% of the time they're resident birds. The only WMA near Seymour I know if is possibly Forks of the River. If that's the one you may be wasting your time because it seems like everyone and their brother hunts it, but if you put in the time you can probably find a spot. If not do you know what WMA you'll be on? If you have a boat I usually see birds around most any island on the rivers and lakes around here. Unless the island is posted (some are posted as refuges) then they're free to hunt too as they're owned by TVA. Sorry I didn't help out sooner I thought you had family in Seymour at first but were hunting Reelfoot.

it may or may not happen. depends on how work and everything else is going. im sure if i go ill just spend days driving around looking for water... prob get myself in trouble you guys have a lot of leased land. thats unheard of in maine. no sign. hunt it. if theres a sign take it down come back in a day or two. plus the migration hasnt even started up here. i bet by late jan itll start

I don't know of any duck leases in East TN. I know there's some out west but as for leases here all we got is deer leases. You can always take a boat out and stand in the water next to the bank. As long as you're 100 yards away from a house you can do what ever you want in the water.
