You will be alright. I don't know who told you about the mergansers. There is a few but there will be more mallards , grey ducks , spoonies, and divers and piles of snows and blues with specs mixed in. Who are you going with?

sounds like reelfoot is starting to pick up some ducks, and also the refuges are holding water this year,
should be a good year, heard some good reports there starting to come in daily, these cold fronts predicted will keep them comming.

I have been to ReelFoot at least once a season for the last 15 years. I don't think I have ever taken more than 1 or 2 mergansers. Not sure where you heard that, but it is not true.

Highly recommend Mike Newsome - www.floodedtimber.com I had a great hunt there in '08 and had booked a hunt for this week. He called me to tell me the hunting has been really slow in W. TN and let me reschedule! That's what I call going above and beyond as an outfitter/guide.

True, Hunting is slow at Reelfoot. The Upper Bottoms are flooded. About 10,000 acres are under water. Should be on the Fall after Thursday. Weekend hunting should pick back up.
