I have shot plenty of yotes with no decoy and have heard that they actually sometimes get scared from them. Whats your takes? Do you use a decoy, handful of feathers, turkey feather tied to string??????? Just curious because I have done well with no decoy but I'm always looking for ways to increase the odds. Thanks!

I never used a decoy, because I was always assuming the scent coming off it would be more like a human than an animal so I always figured it would hurt more than help.

I haven't ever gone yote hunting, but I would assume it would hurt. If it's smaller than the other yotes in the area it might help because the may come to run it off. If it's bigger it may scare the others away. I've used bird wings tied to a string from a limb numerous times for trapping and it should grab their attention when calling as well. Don't see why it wouldn't. Just make sure it's legal where you are.
