The only way to really know is to put it to paper. The same load through different chokes can pattern drastically different than what one may expect in as much as different loads through the same choke can vary.

In my experience if one gets too tight of a pattern the chances of a clean miss at short to medium range go way up. There is a balance between a tight enough pattern to be effective at longer ranges and one so tight it shoots like a rifle at "in your face" distances. You just need to determine how tight of a pattern you need for the typical distance and terrain you hunt and choke your gun appropriately by patterning every one with your actual hunting load.

Normally dont like chokes that tight, wouldnt go any smaller than #6 shot at low to mid velocities. Then again might give you great patterns, good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Congrats on the bird, glad to hear everything worked out for you. What gun, choke, and shell combo were you using again, might list for others to use the info who might have same gun. Congrats again.
