EPA reversed it's decision to allow the skimmer to operate in the gulf clean up operation...it is sitting in the river south of venice anchored riding out he alex...when the storm clears and seas die..she will begin skimming!!! :banana: :banana: Best news I've heard in a while!!!

if the article i read on it was accurate, that thing can skim more oil per day than is being spilled. this could be a real turning point, i just hope it isn't too late.

A-Whale is headed down river at 11 knots to the Gulf of Mexico...should commence skimming operations sometime Saturday! :banana: :banana:

latest news is that it is minimially effective...the ship was designed to handle un emulsified oil. the stuff they are sucking up is haevily weathered and sticky as hell.. they are having problems seperating it on the ship..
