Managed two geese on Saturday morning, not much beyond that. Saw several ducks but no one wanted to play. I heard plenty of shooting around though so someone was tearing them up!

Only got 3, very disappointing. Tons and tons of shooting around the lake, sounded like a military invasion. Didn't see anyone within sight distance drop more than 4 birds all morning. Lots of birds in the stratosphere and more skybusting than I could stomach.

Breaking out the layout boat for this weekend to get away from the crowd, and hopefully onto some birds

We cleaned house on the woodies. The hole we hunted always produces mallards and teal but not this opener we didn't get one. Most of the birds we saw were way up in the sky and not wanting to play except for the woodies. Almost like they knew what the score was. Kind of a strange opener imo atleast for us. I am not going to complain much though i had fun and i do like to shoot woodies.
Good Luck to everyone this season.

Getting a lot of geese and Mallards. Seems to be an LARGE number of Hens this year, We had flocks of 15 to 30 landing in the decoys and ALL of them were hens. NO the were not young drakes, Full colored big pretty hens. Drakes were coming in as singles and lots of woodies and teal too.
