here are a few pics i took this season. I am new to photography and help or pointers would be great! i am shooting with a nikon D90 body with a 18-105mm VR, and a 70-300mm VR lens.

Nice Pics, I'm a little rusty on the raptor species department, but is that an immature Bald eagle, or is it a Golden?

thank you! i think it is a golden eagle it is twice the size of the bald eagles. but im not positive..

That is interesting the pic of the sprig getting banded as we were just talking about one shot a week ago on another forum that had been banded in NM. We had no clue they were banded there. Cool to see it.

Good shots of the snows and that is a good work-out for the camera ..it takes a lot of position o make some of those shots

thats cool we caught about 200 birds and 80% of them were pin tails and about 10 of them were already banded.. thanks for all the positive feedback.

nice pics! so is that 70-300mm doing everything that you need it to do? my wife and i have Canon cameras, I am looking for a good zoom lens to basically take the kind of pictures you have been taking... she has a 55-250mm for her camera.
