western North Carolina - any hunters? any ducks?

Postby NC-CreekHunter » Sun Dec 25, 2005 4:45 am

It is a blessing to live in the mountains of western North Carolina, except during duck season, then life is tough.

Are there any other misplaced hunters out there? How have you done?

I floated the lower French Broad River yesterday and saw no ducks! Only 3 Canadas. I never fired a shot.

Merry Christmas!

Hi, Im new to duck Hunting. This is technically my first year. Im in Hickory, and so far I have only bagged 3 mallards this year myself. However, I have only been four times this year. I guess thats not too bad. Its tougher here in the western part of the state because alot of the birds pass this area by and go more East. There were plenty of birds here during the split, but when season came back in, the numbers declined quickly.
The Crow has landed!!
