Can we get Tap talk app for Iphone/ Droid

Postby J.Walton » Thu Mar 31, 2011 11:14 pm

I am a member of several other forums like FordFullsize.com and a train horn forum. The admin have installed tap Talk which is a app that is for your phone and it makes it easy to use the forum while on the go. I know this is my first post but I only started duck hunting last winter and loved it. I have been getting info from this forum on and off and decided I would join because yall are knowledgeable and I will have plenty questions between now and september wood duck season. The tap talk app would be great for me because I am out alot and it is so easy to view new post, reply, and messages. Please look into it. Thnaks

I brought this up a few months ago and most people didn't seem to like the idea. I dunno if they were familiar with the software but a lot seemed worried it would change their DHC experience.

I did just install this but I don't have an Iphone or a Droid (I have a crackberry).

Does someone want to test this and let me know how it goes?

Tap talk is a app that let's you search the forum, and post/ make threads through a droid/ iPhone. Much easier than using a regular Internet when on your phone.

I had to look it up too. It's an app to make forums easier to read on mobile devices. It cost money though and since I don't have any troubles reading the forums on my iphone, I'll just stick with the old way.

Its worth it to me, helps me keep up with new post, participated post, and everything else. Plus fordfullsize.com and hornblasters.com are on taptalk so it was worth the buck.

It doesn't make it easier for me. I can search, type and post from my phone via the browser.

Personally sick of "ease of use" software ruining my online experiences.

Can we get Tap talk app for Iphone/ Droid

Postby J.Walton » Thu Apr 28, 2011 4:11 pm

I don't know why y'all are being so hostile over this. Y'all would never have known it was on here other than reading about it.

As for a sales person, I ain't one. I ware a gun and vest at my job bro!

And sorry you think people that take advantage of technology half to be " teenagers" maby if y'all would try it y'all wouldn't act like yall got a corn cob up yalls crack.

This app does not effect you unless you want it to, so your opinion isn't really needed. It is a open forum and you are more than welcome to show your hate/ stupidity towards " ease of use" technology but don't be bashing me personally, you don't know me Sr.'s

Ya, Its fun, but every now and then the kids get too wound up and projectile vomit. I forgot I ware a face visor too, haha :hi:

No, I am in law enforcement. Just surprised there is so much hostility over a app being enabled that has not effected the cite but for the folks that will use it. I could understand if it changed the layout of the cite, or something like that but if this thread wasn't there, and a admin put it on, no one would have known it was on here. It doesn't interfere with any members that don't want to use it.

http://www.tapatalk.com/

Looks like 2 bucks but well worth it to me. when you log on it refreshes all topics that have been commented on from your last visit. another tab shows all post you have participated in, and another shows all post. You can do everything on it that you can on here but more organized. everything is fit to screen and viewing pix is way easier.

FAQ from Forum Owner:
Q: How much does it cost?

A: As a forum owner you are free to activate Tapatalk in your forum, and you are free to remove/deactivate it anytime you want to.

Q: Which forum system does it currently support?

A: Currently phpBB3 3.0.x, vBulletin 3.6.x/3.7.x/3.8.x/4.x, xenForo 1.0.X, Invision Power Board (IPB) 3.x and Simple Machine Forum (SMF) 1.1.11+/2.x are supported. You can also look for other forum system plugin developed by third party developers using Tapatalk API at our Developer Support forums

Q: I have multiple forums, Can I activate more than one forum?

A: Yes, you can and additional forums are free also.

Q: What's the point of this app if my members can access my site with mobile skin or Safari at no cost?

A: We received a lot of feedback from users that they want a dedicated app on their smartphone. Most users are contented with the mobile skin or a standard web browser but some of them would appreciate a full-on native app on their phone. For example Tapatalk app allows user to upload photo directly from their phone to your forum as an image attachment. We are also rolling out Push Notification support so it helps your members to stay in touch with your forums while on-the-go.

Q: Do you do rebranding / private white label for my forum?

A: Yes, please visit our rebranding page for more information

Q: How does the Tapatalk Plug-in work with my forum system security?

A: The Plugin is designed to inherit all security policies from your forum system. For example, if a specific sub-forum is a restricted access, the Tapatalk iPhone client would not be able to access it unless the logging member has the authority to access it.

Q: Is this service compatible with all other 3rd party modifications that I have installed on my forum system?

A: While we don't guarantee the Tapatalk Plugin will work with all your existing modification. It allows you to experiment the compatibility with our free Lite version. We have tested with many forums with certain degree of modifications and majority of them work well with Tapatalk. Support for modified forums are courtesy basis only and we will not provide refund or any trouble-shooting if it is found that your modification caused the Tapatalk from working as designed.

Q: My organization also developed a forum system, how I can make it compatible with the Tapatalk app so our customers / members would be able to use the same app to access?

A: You can access our Tapatalk API with full documentation on how to bridge your forum system with Tapatalk app support.

Being able to post pictures from the iphone without leaving is pretty neat.

I'll definitely use this in the future.

As for everyone else your age is showing...
