What did you do to your huntin truck today?

Postby T Man » Tue Apr 05, 2011 1:00 pm

I am blatently stealing this thread idea off of fullsizechevy.com.

So what did you do to your huntin rig today? Wash it? Total it? Put it up, and post pics.

Mine got a topper. Finances arent there to paint it just yet, but it does its job whatever color it is. I also installed a couple of battery powered flourescent lights inside for loading in the dark.

Nothing recently really. It's been relinquished to trail, hunting and hauling purposes only since commuting 80 miles a day @ 13mpg hurts the pocket big time. I am currently in the process of building axles for it. I just recently got the front axle torn down and cleaned up. Waiting on the funds for a TruTrac and then it will be getting put together and thrown under the rig.

Installed some of those $0.99 LED's in my dome and trim lights. For $5 I wish I would have done it LONG ago. They are at least 4x brighter then the old bulbs

Mine sits in the drive most of the time unless it is hunt'n season or hauling a tractor, dozer or some project home. 2001 HD 8.1L LT with 59,000 miles. Will be installing a set of 285/75-16 MT MTZ's.

** I'll preface by saying I DON'T listen to rap or hip hop of any sort, just country and rock  **

Just finished building a box for a 10" woofer to go behind the center jump seat in my standard cab Silverado. Now I just got to pick up some fabric to cover the box and run the hot wire for the amp

Also am waiting on some 1.5" wheel spacers to bring my rear track width out to match the front since the spindle lift I put on pushed out the front wheels. We are finally getting more then 2 days without rain so a nice wash and wax is in store too!

This weekend: Pulled the receiver hitch, sanded and repainted. Polished and waxed the truck. Painted the tailpipe and frame/suspension components visible.

Let there be light, lots of light. I installed a Smity built stainless steel bull bar and mounted a pair of Warn off road lights with the remote wireless switch. Looks great and definitely lights the night. Also installed a set of Bully back up lights. Throws lots of light when backing up at night especially in dark remote areas.

Sorry forgot my disclaimer on this one - If I can keep it from completely bottoming out. I'm well aware what a muddin truck looks like I'm the only one of my friends that doesn't have a 4wd truck but you would be surprised for sure. I mean we don't have dark mud like that but I chalenge anyone to some alabama red clay any day.
