Hunted High Rock this morning. Weather was nice before shooting time but started to rain right at 7. Saw more people out than I expected, but just not many birds. Saw a handful of mallards while we were hunting, but nothing seemed to want to work, not to mention they were sky high. Had 2 Mallards lock up right into our hole while we were standing in the middle picking up decoys...figures. :help:

2 Guns
10 decoys
0 birds

Hunted thurs, fri, and sat at the coast. It was blue birdy on thursday and friday. Saturday was okay weather wise, but all in all very warm. We shot a bunch of coots, one merganser, and nine buffleheads. Did a lot of scouting since the birds really weren't there. I imagine there will be ducks galore come about March.
Did find some really cool places to hunt when the weather and the birds cooperate.

hunted goose creek gamelands killed one greenwing teal drake...sam a lot of divers but i believe they were headed to the nearest corn pile all of them a mile high and going to the same area. a lot of swans in the areasome widgeon and pintails, saw quite a few teal early. i believe if the weather would cooperate with us we could have a good last week of the season.

Hunted the State Waterlily Blind in Currituck NWR...

3 Mallards - 1 Drake

Many Widgeons, bluebills, and teal flying. All flying to one particular blind at the end of the bay...Hmm, I wonder why.
