How much is this worth?

Postby bubba1 » Mon Jan 30, 2006 5:05 pm

I found this in my local paper and am interested. Does anyone have an opinion or experience with a Colt AR15?

"Colt AR15 223 caliber, H-bar match competition rifle 20" barrel, $775"

Thanks

I have one....and thats about what you can get for a new one.

Brand names "olympic" "bushmaster" ect....can go for apprx 100 more or less then that "bushmaster" is prime.

I'd tell your friend that if that's all thats offered (scope, mags, ect..) then he'd be better getting one brand new.

BTW...the brady bill has done nothing for or against prices....

Marcbe - it sure brought the prices of high capacity mags down. before, the cost of a "pre-ban" mag was outrageous...now they are relatively cheap.

I think it was the assault weapons and the ban on high capacity mags (that really banned nothing by the way) that drove up the prices up. The Brady bill was about waiting periods, and that is gone with the instant back ground check now in place.

That is a fantastic rifle. The price is bout average.

I was in the market for one bout a month ago, and forget the actual going price.

Check out gunbroker.com and auctionarms.com to give you a good idea

Sorry, I should have clarified.....the bill's death has had no effect

Without a doubt the bills implimentation caused a spike. But that was more because of greedy manufacturers and distributers then anything else. Just like gas prices, a good excuse to raise the price then never lower it to proper market levels.
