It's a couple of years ago i have hunted seaducks, so i think we did a good job.

Hi Bill

I was sure it was legally to hunt gulls overthere, those two on the picture is juvenile Great Black-backed Gulls, and they can be hard on the eiders and other ducks in the breding season. We have 3 species we may hunt during the fall: Great Black-backed Gulls, Lesser Black-backed Gull and the European Herring Gull. And total we shoot about 30,000 a year.

And how do those taste, Thor? They can't be any worse than the merganser I tried once.

Sure wish we could pop a cap on those rascals here.

Hi harryhyde

The gulls i've had made, had been very good, but the young ones are the best, i take the breast and freided it, but be sure that all the fat is cut away ,it taste awfull, and for the record, i've had eaten a lot off merganser and i cook them like the gulls,
the same whit the eiders and the scooters, and served it whit mash potatoes or rice, and a dark beer or a good red wine.

Really love the seaduck hunt pics!! Those are some awesome birds you have there in my mind, shooting some Euro eiders and different scoters is high on my list to do!

To Lake O Hunter, the two birds are almost similar, if your look at them there are a little difrence at there eyes.

Those are some sweet pictures Thor, sounds like you were as excited about your shovelor as I was about the Eurasion Wigeon I killed last year!

If you could post some recipes for seaducks, that would be outstanding! :lol3:
