The 500 and The Super bowl

Postby ACEBLDRS » Sun Feb 19, 2006 11:20 am

Well, the 500 is today, so that got me thinking about something.

Every year for the super bowl, millions of casual and non football fans tune in to watch or go to parties. The hype of the game is so big that it draws everyone to it.

Now that Nascar is 2 or 3 most watched spectator sport, does it have any similar effects as the "SUPER BOWL"? Do people just tune in for this race, or go over to their friend's house to have a "500" party?

I know what the real fans say, of course you have a party, but i want to know if the casual fan or the non fan gets any excitement from the race and/or will be watching today.

Good luck RACE FANS, boogity boogity.

Why did this get moved? :pissed:

I wanted to hear from the casual or non race fan. The casual fan will not be on the sports forum. :hammering:

The stinkin cheater won :pissed: I see your point ACE. (about it being moved) I was at a race party held by a local fire dept. There was casual fans there watching...or I should say walking around, being loud, gambling, not paying attention, standing in front of the big screen TV's and driving me nuts. I am sure there are many "kinda" fans watching just because there is not many other sports to watch right now.

Gunman....Gordon likes getting the shaft by the way. :hammering:

I am a Hendricks guy, so i was happy.

Whas it just me or did Tony Stewart look like a big A hole today. He is such a big blow hard calling out bad drivers, and he was by far the worst today.

I hope he soon fades off into the sunset and goes the way of another fat blow hard, Jimmy Spencer.

Woohoo, Jimmie!

Tony Stewart was thisclose to coming off my list of drivers I absolutely cannot stand, but I think he permanently cemented his place at the top of that list with his behavior today.

I only watch the last five laps of any race. other then that I find it boring.
I think I'd watch it if I could go to the track and watch it there though.
thanks to the men and woman of the United States Coast Guard- without them I would not be here.

We didn't have much of a party, it was only us and another couple who like racing as much as we do...well as much as my wife does. I thought it was a good race, but as usual there was too many cautions(for my liking anyways) It's gonna be a great season and i'm so happy racins finally back, it seemed like a long three months. Looks like good 'ol Tony is back but you got to give him credit for coming back and getting a 5th place finish after his penalties.

By the way, did Johnson's car pass post race inspection?

:salude:
Is it september the 8th yet???
