Turkey hunting

Postby yellodog1 » Mon Feb 27, 2006 8:07 pm

Does any one else here from Vt Turkey hunt in the spring? It should be a good year, we have had an easy winter, and the birds are all over.
One downfall is youth weekend starts right before the opening day, which could move the birds around for everyone on the actual opener. Although I agree its still good to get the kids out there.

No Turkey this year for me. I got one the last 2 years in a row. although I only went out 3 times, due to all the rain. The 3rd time out someone took my spot....my fault for not getting up earlier, and they took a nice bird. Antway, still the fall.

Record Spring Turkey Harvest

Postby yellodog1 » Tue Aug 01, 2006 7:15 pm

The numbers are in for the spring Turkey Season in Vermont.
This year surpassed last year as a record year, even though it rained a lot of the season.
4677 Bearded Turkeys were taken in the State.
Youth weekend was also a record setter, with 532 Turkeys taken.

Its getting better every year in the State. Hopefully we have another easy winter.
