I carry a SOG Flash II clipped tip up to my right front pocket, but not for defense purposes. In order to effectively use a blade for defense, one must have a much larger fixed blade fighting knife and extensive training on proper techniques. I carry a knife so I can cut the strings off of my shirt.

Understood. But since there is no knife forum i figured this would be a good place to post. Whatever knife, for whatever reason. A good blade has a thousand uses.

Carried a SOG Trident Tanto for about a year. Only reason why I don't carry it anymore is because of the steel they use. Its a really hard stainless that is tricky to get an edge back on it. Right now, its nothing more than a fancy butter knife sitting on my night stand. Just ordered a Cold Steel American Lawman series. Just waiting for it to come in.

My Benchmade S30V with phenolic sides goes everywhere I go and it'll hold an edge better than any knife I've ever had...plus it is the smoothest non self-opener I have found.

crkt knifes are well made I have a few one for the truck another for the boat.
They make great gifts because they are priced right , they seem like a big money gift but at a reasonable price.
