FALL FLIGHT IN ALABAMA
WATERFOWLING THE TENNESSEE RIVER VALLEY
Here is a good book that I bought last year that true waterfowlers will really enjoy. Vic Daily is the author of the book and he lives in Decatur, Alabama. He is a graduate of Auburn University in 1984 and resides in Huntsville AL now.
The book does not cater to the masses but provides and interesting history of waterfowling in NE Alabama beginning with ancient Indians, discusses the loss of natural wetlands that existed before TVA built the dams that formed Lake Guntersville the loss of those wetlands due to subsequent flooding and the revival somewhat years later. He talks about some of the old Duck Clubs that used to exist in the area and so on.
Its a great read and should be in your library of duck hunting lore and legends for the area.
