Dutch I think had as much fun as I did!

This was part way through our first hunt.

Only place I have ever been where you can get both in the same spot

And do this at the same time, right by the decoys

If I was a younger man I'd move in heartbeat.

Oh that narrows it down to about 3/4 of the state. LOL actually looks like familiar country.

I'll narrow it down. Central Flyway :lol3:

If I said where exactly or how truly incredible it is there, you would be overrun by out-of-state jackasses like me for your entire season.

This was actually my second time to MT for ducks. The picture of me at the bottom is the first trout I have ever caught, huge isn't he. I don't think I will ever go back there without a fly rod in tow.

Those living in MT are truly blessed.

The biggest challege there was waiting for puddle ducks and not shooting a limit of GE's in the first 15 mins. The hunt would have been too fast the way those babys come in on you.

Im bringing a couple guys from back east to that country in Jan. they want to shoot some goldeneyes. I think they think Im lying about how easy it is going to be to shoot a limit of drakes. LOL I keep telling them "your going to see thousands of them a day.

The crazy part is you can pick out the Barrows as they fly in

A group could easily fill out on GE's very quickly.

I know this and you know this, but seeing is believing. Most of the big rivers in MT are like this this time of year. The MO is sick with goldeneyes most late seasons.

Nice work Big River! Glad you had a good time in our state! Place isn't so bad for duck hunting, unless Hutch was there the day before. Then your chance of a limit declines significantly. Not to hijack, Hutch, were you on the way eastern part of the state around Nov. 21st? I swear I passed a dude with 18 plates that looked like you?? Also had a boat on back. Big River, your welcome to our state anytime, only because you look like a nice guy and you acknowledged that "Montana is for Badasses!"

I am glad you are not sharing the location, but to be honest I dont think that river is exactly a secret. Heading there tomorrow actually.

All of you on this board ought to know where I was. The average idiot on DHC would have no idea, and I like keeping it that way. I posted this in the MT forum instead of the Honey Hole (where I do most of my work) out of respect for that place. Although not a lot of people have the drive to go all the way out to MT for a duck hunt. I got laughed at when I told people that asked where I was going on vacation. They thought I should be hunting elk or something. Driving that far for some ducks is crazy talk to a lot of people.

Not to me, I am going to Deleware next week just for some ducks. Nothing like traveling for some stinky birds.

You must have not run into many duck hunters from the Volunteer State over the years...those crazy ba$tards will drive anywhere, any distance for ducks! LOL :lol3:

Very nice! I love that water.

My buddies and I call that stretch over your right shoulder "Flanders hole" as a few years back a guy who was the spitting image of Ned Flanders from the Simpsons was putting on a clinic right there during a baetis hatch.
