Anybody else ready for spring turkey?

Postby DuckSuperNova » Mon Dec 19, 2011 11:43 am

I know duck season is still in full swing, but getting my Super Nova for duck hunting that I also use to kill turkey just gets me excited for calling a tom in.

Have a few more days on the ocean for sea ducks left but already thinking about Ol' Thunder Head. Gunning three states and helping out with a Wheelin' Sportsman event this year too. Should be a very cool spring!

Amazing but I am fully ready for some thunderchicken action too! I have lots of fun trips planned -- Oklahoma (my state), Nebraska archery and later shotgun, South Dakota for a Merriams or two. And if the planets align, maybe a trip to Missouri for my first Eastern!
The good old days are now!

Oh yeah!! Had a slow mornin duck hunting the other day on the river. Matter of fact didnt see but 4 ducks way off. Had some turkeys roosted about 100 yards behind us and it got me really excited. That might be why I didnt see but 4 ducks. I was focused on the turkeys in the woods. Ended up bein a group of about 25 come out on the sand bar for prolly 10 minutes. Took all I had not to knock one down

Duck season goes out tomorrow for me, and have had a good year this year. But i can't wait for that mild spring morning when that long beard fires off in southeast Alabama!
Its really about just being out there......War Eagle!
