CREEKSTONE LODGE-HOLLYWOOD, AL NO LONGER DUCK DOG FRIENDLY!
We have stayed at the Creekstone Lodge in Hollywood, AL for approximately three hunting seasons because we liked the boat garages and the location. We did not care for the sparcely appointed rooms, the floors which had no carpet on them nor the lumpy beds, poor chest of drawers and the tiny TV's which often did not work. The towels in the bath Rooms were also the source of some funny conversation.
Effective in December of 2011 the Creekstone Lodge now Charges a Pet Fee of $25.00 for any duck hunters that bring their retriever to stay at the facility. This is in addition to the normal day rate they charge per person or per room.
This was the straw that broke the camel's back for us as it clearly sent the message they don't want our business and we bolted. Took a couple hours but we found better accomodations at a lower price nearby and no fees for dogs.
Going Hunting without a trained retriever is like going on a honeymoon without a bride!
