Hey I was hoping that some of y'all would have some information on hunting the river for ducks. Such as rules and strategy. Im not asking for anybody's "spot" but just some help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
CB

Ill give you one HUGE tip. If you are hunting the river you need to be 100% ok with receiving a trespassing ticket and having to fight it. You need to know the area really well. Talk to the locals as much as possible to find out the scoop on whats going on and where.

It does not matter how much you think you know where you are though. There are places where the state may claim to own and two other people claim to own it too. We have gotten tickets hunting from a boat at low water on a major oxbow with people publicly fishing right by us. We have gotten tickets from Mississippi wardens in places that every map known to man shows as being Louisiana. All it takes is a claiming land owner to grease the pockets of a local deputy to write you a ticket and you got one. People also obtain false deeds to try to claim areas. There are lawsuits being filed over who owns what on a constant basis. Most of it involves the money that now flows surrounding the big deer that are on the river. It doesnt matter how legal you are when you start banging away on a public peice of water 200 yards away from a big $$$ deer clubs customer that just paid $4000 for a secluded river monster buck hunt you are going to get hosed every time.

The group I hunt with has been written for tresspassing four total times. Not once has it stuck because we knew the details of where we were but it sure is a major pain in the arse.

Ill let someone else go into the safety requirements of gettin on that big biotch.
