I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe. The emergency brake peddle will not stay engaged when I push it down. Could the cable be broken or is there a adjustment screw of some sort. The peddle when pushed down slowly comes back up to the off position. if it starts to come back up i can pull the emer. brake lever and it will kinda pop up the last inch or two. Thanks

could be a few things it not staying makes me think it could be a broken cable, or the ratcheting system that holds it down maybe stripped/ broken.
but i really wouldn't worry too much about it... I never use an emergency brake, even in my 5spd work truck.
