I have been thanking about getting a hand gun. Would carry it when hunting and just to take out shooting. I ask a police friend I have and this is what he carries as a off duty gun. Does anyone know any thing about it?

I dont have alot of experience with them but I think they are a good safe gun. What caliber are you looking at?

I was looking at a 9mm or a 40sw. I like that the 9mm is a cheaper round.

I think you should be fine. You should go to a local gun range and see if you can shoot one, or find someone that will let you shoot one. Helps alot to make the decision

Do you plan on carrying it concealed? One 9mm that we own and like alot is a Beretta 92. I also really like but dont have the Kahr PM9.

Personally I dont like the exposed barrel that the baretta has. Seems like something to get jamed in there and keep it from cycling.

I do not plan on carrying it as an concealed weapon. I have just now stated looked at any Beretta, have looked at a Springfield and a little at the Rugger, but I thank I can get into the Taurus cheaper and still have a good gun. Thought I would as some others what they thank.

Rugers arent generally the coolest gun ever but they are great guns are a reasonable price.

Taurus is an alright gun ecspecially for a saftey gun. I would go with a 9mm. they dont manufacture 40's that well so i have heard.
