Phragmites

Postby duckstruck » Sat Feb 11, 2012 7:31 pm

I have noticed that there has been some significant phragmite eradication going on in my area over the last few years. Some has been done with chemicals, yearly mowing or a combo of both.

I have noticed that after a year or two that it does not appear to be any beneficial marsh grasses growing in the areas that have been erradicated. Does anyone know if there are any plans to plant or seed for beneficial grass's? Or after the phragmites are gone do you just roll the dice and hope something decent grows? Any thoughts? These are salt marsh areas.
