One Tuff Critter!

Postby montana bound » Sat Mar 24, 2012 7:07 pm

Remember the Coyote I caught this past winter?
Well I froze it whole to mount.Today I skinned it out and boy what I found.
He had 6 pellets , looked like lead T shot in his hind legs. ( It had been there a while).
When I got him I noticed he had a scab on his forehead. Turns out it was a hole in his scull that was healing from what looked to be a glancing hit from a rifle. There was a hole in the skin between the eyes and the front of his scull was cracked but he was still going strong.
Talk about tuff.
You get out of a dog , what you put into a dog!

Pound for pound I'd put a coyote's toughness against just bout any animal. The things are survivors

yoties are tough critters. Ive got several with shot off legs, 1 with the joints in the hips totaly fused. It must have hopped, because the hip joints didnt rotate. I snared one a couple years ago that had a front foot that was split in the middle for about 6" and healed. You find shotgun pellets in them all the time and occassional bullets. They lead a rough life.

check out this poor bastard!
