I live on the Potomac in VA, and this year I noticed a larger population of divers that stayed in our area longer than normal during the winter months. Well this has led to a small amount of divers, buffleheads and bluebills, currently staying in our area now.

Has anyone else noticed this trend or are you seeing birds hanging around areas you normally didn't? I would have thought with the boat traffic picking up these birds would have been long gone but not yet.

Being this late in the spring I think these birds might be here for good. But it seems pretty far south for these birds to be nesting... any thoughts? Do you think they will nest here?

Wouldn't that be nice! I think the warmer winter will help us northerners shoot more ducks and geese this year. They didn't all go down to the gauntlet down south.
