I saw a very rare duck for my area yesterday, a Canvasback drake in full plumage on a big bass pond I was fishing we really don't get ANY Canvasbacks around here, before he got there there was three BWT, a bunch of those ugly butt Mergansers, three Coots, two Woodies, and four Canadas, then he came in I was in aww for a while I still am :lol3: :eek:

Just a dumb one and don't call mergansers "butt ugly" :fingerpt: :hammer: :lol: :yes:

the same thing happened to me on a pond that i was bass fishing about a week ago, except there were 6 BWT, 2 grebes, 2 woodducks, 2 canadas on the top pond and a canvasback hen and drake on the bigger pond.

Why, hens are I think, they were all hens.

Late season in Arkansas we had some groups of divers come through like canvasbacks and redheads I also got my first bufflehead and got it mounted

very nice! we dont get many at the public place 4miles down the road from me where I hunt, but last year there where a few taken and a group of regular canvasbacks hanging around a ceartin deep water hole.
