Lost a good one

Postby Troutslayer » Fri Apr 13, 2012 7:51 pm

I had to have my old lab Belle put down today. She had been battling cancer for quite a while. Those of you who had the pleasure of hunting over her know that she was a birdy little dog, and probably the best one I will ever be lucky enough to own. I was able to get her on some hunts last season, even then I knew she was sick and try as I might I couldn't run her into the ground. Pour a sip and if you've got a good one don't take it for granted. Made it 12 years, but I would have liked a couple more.

Sorry to hear Trout. She will be waiting at the bridge for you to join her some day where you two can once again chase the birds we love to chase. She will bust through the ice and scramble over the log jams with no trace of any pain, never failing to deliver the bird to your hand and you will never miss a shot as birds settle all around the two of you. God bless.
RIP Suzy, you will be missed by all who knew you. Oct 1999-July 2015.

Hang in there man. They all come and go, you just gotta keep their memory alive. Thoughts are with you and Belle.

The good ones never live as long as we wish, while the others last forever
....its like taking x-lax when you have a bad cough. It wont clear up your lungs, but it sure stops you from coughing

Trout, I've been away and am very tardy here. I am so sorry for your loss. I have had several friends go through this over the last three years or so, including one a short while ago. It's a tough time.

I wish you the best.
Rest in Peace, Ryder. Boy, you went before your time, in the start of your prime. You were loyal and are missed.
