Bird #2 for the spring season in Wisconsin. Got my first bird during the first week of the season.
Went out yesterday evening to the same area. Set out a half strut jake and settled into a spot about 35 yards away. 20 minutes later see a turkey about 200 yards out. Couldnt really tell whether it was coming in due to the slope of the land. A minute later two toms walk up in full strut. And proceed to kick the crap out of the decoy. Finally knock it over and start gobbling. Wait for them to separate. Shoot this one. Then watch the second start pounding his dead buddy and the decoy for 5 minutes. Get up walk out and the bird wouldnt leave. Finally had to chase him off.
10.75 inch beard
1 inch spurs.
