Boats

Postby Wingbuster58 » Thu Jun 14, 2012 3:47 pm

I have been working and saving for a while. I'm gonna be a junior and was wondering if there's other highschool guys buying/building up their own boats. Let's see 'em, post pictures!

just graduated HS this year and with my college classes only 3 days a week I'll have much more time to hunt, and I plan to buy a boat as I'll be doing lots more hunting this year!

here is a 10ft? perche creek boat I barrowed last year from a good friend. weighs about 70lbs so I could carry it my self and even load it in my truck!

check out craigslist for a nice used one is always a good start, but If you're looking to buy new... depending on where you hunt 4-rivers is the way to go. they have a few different boats to chose from so they'll have one to fit most any situation if you're looking for a good layout boat, or do like I did and make your own.

however a jon boat is great if you are able to hunt in places that can easily hide it.

a few things to think about is how much gear will you be hauling? passengers? dog? shallow water capabilities needed? distance traveling by boat? motor?
