oops just saw this... we ended up going with Capt. Stephen Fields with Fields Fishing...got a couple redfish and some little sharks

There are a great number of good guides around charleston.

All of the excellent ones have their own websites. Just GOOGLE Charleston fly fishing, redfish on a fly, or light tackle fishing in charleston SC. Ask the guide about their boat, and what kind of fishing they specialize in. Alot of guides simply throw a lot of live bait...others fly fishing, and others like plastics and light spinning. Very few will be able to take you wade fishing, and ask about their boats.
