SE Zone opener?

Postby hnkr83 » Thu Jun 21, 2012 9:04 pm

Heard a rumor that the SE zone opener will be Nov. 10th with no re-zoning until 2014. This should give us something to talk about until October

I dont mind the SE zone opening a week later. I DO mind all the SE guys migrating north on the Northern opener.

I don't care what dates the season opens really. As long as dad and I can get out and shoot ducks together. Plus, I have a private pond where no jackwagons can ruin my hunts. But if anyone wants to come up and hunt with me and dad, the more the merrier. Any one is welcome with us. We just can't guarantee ducks.

You could have done that last year.
Last season I shot ducks on Jan 28 in the Late Zone. As I recall, I could have shot them on Jan 29th, but chose not to.
That's pretty much "the end of January".

Trust me I did, I just prefer to hunt the entire month of January without any splits.

I guess it is here to stay and I will just deal with it. It is funny how the birds only migrate south in south eastern ks tho. Enough to a point that the state has decided to make a special zone for it. I think that we should divide it in north to south zones not diagonal zig-zagging zones. Look at the zones out west that would be confusing as hell. Who the hell draws that map, other than someone with money at large.

I think they should push all the zones back 2 weeks. Every year it's the same story. Early in the season you have 1/2 the ducks and twice the hunters and at the end of season there are a ton of birds and a fraction of the hunters. So what do we do????? Oh ya, close down because the fair weather candy arses can't handle "waterfowl" weather! Before anyone says anything you can kill ducks on the ice and if everything is completely locked up it's one hard winter and the geese wont be here either. Even if they started later and got rid of the split it would still be better.

Theres my rant for the day! lol!
