Does anyone know a close date when the new Avian X decoys will be released?

They had them at the OH Waterfowlers Bootcamp this past weekend. Good looking decoys, but honestly don't look any different from the first run, save for the bases and the fact that the stands are a little bigger and square. to hopefully keep them upright for a change.

For anyone that has actually seen the 2012 version, I'd be curious to know if they are as yellow looking as last year's model. I held off buying any last year and finally had a chance to see some in person last spring. I'm hoping the 2012 version is more gray than yellow. Cabela's still shows them to be a backordered item but the sale flyer for this weekend's Kansas City waterfowl event has them on sale. Don't know if that means they have some at that location or not.

Saw them today. They look more tan than yellow(or gray) to me. It is an off white - thats for sure.

The bases are now square... not circular. They ran a screw through the base of the neck so you dont lose them any more. Not sure what to think about that. As long as they stay, I guess.

Impressed with the paint though. Tried to scratch them up pretty good today and nothing came off.

They were on sale last year because they had problems and were dumping inventory. Where are these decoys manufactured?

I saw the fully flocked version at Cabelas today. Unfortunately, they still are very yellow looking especially in comparison to the taxidermy flock of honkers hanging above them from the ceiling. On the other hand, I saw an out of the box picture of the new GHG honkers (painted version) on another site and they look much better than the Avian X. If I add anymore full bodies this year it will probably be the GHGs.

saw the new Avians a few weeks ago. did seem a little on the yellowish side, so the guys at the store and I took some outside and set them up in the grass. as strange as this sounds, the farther back you get from them, the better they look. they didn't look yellow at all outside, and from 30yds or so, look extremely real. my buddy an i were trying to decide between the avians and the new ghg's, but since the new ghg won't be here till december, we went with the avians. ordered 3 doz fully flocked ones and the ones we received were actually more on the tan side rather than the yellowish side, but still looked great outside.

Based on the review of customers on various sites they are still having problems with the decoys with the changes or these companies are still selling the older version. Either way they aren't getting the proper feedback online.

Shot a big goose couple days ago and it had quite a bit of yellow tint to it. New Avians seem to have the right colors tho.
