Oh Dear.........This is terrible.
I am gonna need a second job in order to pay for my waterfowl gear addiction.

In reality, I think its a good move for Cabelas.
right on the highway with a big store and marquis sign, Tax free shopping.
Its a win win for all of us.

Awesome! Cabela's came to hamburg, pa when I was a senior in high school, didn't have any money in college. Now, I am starting a family and they want to build one down here. Decisions, decisions, decisions! Diapers or decoys? Either way, I was a half hour from it then and I'll be a half hour from it once built in Christiana.

I was there the day that Hamburg store opened. You couldent move in there. We were on our way home from the PA Bowfest in Sullavin county and decided to swing by there on the way home.

I have never been to Bowfest, but every spring I go up and fish the Loyalsock creek.
I stay at this really shady campground called Almost Heaven in Forksville.
We drive past the fairgrounds and there is always an advertisement for the Bowfest there.

Super cool little town though.
The Forksville Inn is run by this guy from South Philly called "Big Mike".
They have the best b-fast sandwhiches ever - scrapple egg and cheese on a kaiser.
like a breakfast cheesesteak :)

nice, that looks like a really cool place to fish. Bubba, you'd love it! We always stated at a little hotel just outside of forksville in Laporte. Small place called the Pine Tavern. Miss that place!

The Loyalsock is a beautiful stream, but I find the fish are small and only stocked in a few places.
The stretch through Worlds End State Park is gorgeous- looks like a trout unlimited calander.
We always get lunch at the High Knob - more of a saloon than anything else.

I got to fish Pine Creek, Kettle Creek and Slate Run this past spring and THAT is the way to go!
huge brown trout, nice scenery...worth the drive.

A few years back when we had a hurricane/nasty storm make it all the way up north here, we were up there for bowfest. I remember seeing a cabbin floating down the loyalsock, like a BIG 2 story cabbin, as we were driving to the shoot. I know it got cancelled last year because of flooding but damm, i didnt think it could get any worse then it did that day.

Funny!

This past fall (November 2011) they had massive flooding.
An entire house was swept away, floated down river and crashed into the red covered bridge that crosses the Loyalsock at High Knob. The house did major structural damage to the bridge. It was still closed to traffic in April 2012.

The owner of Forksville Inn said the historical records show flooding like that had not occurred in 200 years.
