Stripers and Sea Ducks

Postby cedar creek sam » Fri Sep 28, 2012 11:12 am

Anyone been out striper fishing and seeing any scoters out on the ocean off of Belmar or Barnegat Inlet? There should be Northern Gannets diving for baitfish shortly as well.

Let us know if you've seen any scoters yet.

Just the cormie brigade as of last week, and the stripers were blue with teeth. If you find one with 7 hooks in its mouth its mine.

Don't know if it helps, but I was up in Maine this past week and the scoters were headed south in droves.

Thanks, good to know they're moving. But wait, I'm going to Maine at the end of the month for scoters and eiders....

Bit too much wind coming up to get out on the ocean for them this week it appears, however.

Thanks for the good wishes...we're going a week later than planned as my friend has family issues.... It was a bit warm last year.

And thanks (!) for the updates, ShooterNJ, as that's exactly what we're looking for, an informed reporter who's on the ocean more than most of us!
