coming home

Postby dickieg » Wed Oct 03, 2012 4:03 pm

Well I'm headed back home to visit the family for thanksgiving. I live in Lancaster and I haven't hunted back there in 12 yrs being in the marine corps puts a damper on some things. I was wondering if anyone could tell me some public places to hunt or if anyone needs a partnern let me know. Thanks

Lancaster is in the South Zone which ends October 28th and wouldn't reopen until December 8th.

What HNTFSH said, the south zone is closed during the Thanksgiving time frame.

Lancaster is barely in the South Zone though. Just get north of 70 and you are good for Thanksgiving weekend.

Speaking of season dates, does anybody know what orfice the DNR pulls them out of? I've got a pretty good idea.

Must be Mike. I don't know how they arrived at a one-week south zone opener. I can adjust to the new split line being on 70 but a December 8th re-start seems pretty damned late to me. And it just pushes more pressure into either zone based on dramatic difference.
