Moving MNWR to inland

Postby magogwhacker » Mon Oct 08, 2012 8:00 am

I have no right to complain 'cuz I didn't go to the waterfowl meeting this year, but it seems to me that moving the missisquoi refuge and mud creek to the inland season are going to give less hunting opportunity. I always felt that it was better with a split season, allowing 2 opening days rather than just 1. What do other people think?
What? There's open water? Its not cold enough.

They moved it last year. For me, it was a tough season in general and seemed to have less birds last year. I am looking forward to better year. As someone who hunts the refuge alot, my feeling was that it was freezing up too early and I was losing places to hunt due to ice. As for the open water, it seemed like birds moves down after the season was closed.
