I need some kind of waterproof structure around my layout blind this year, but the Neotub is so expensive, for what it is. I know a lot of people use them and love them, but I thought there had to be a way to make something similar. Has anybody made their own? Anyone have ideas of some way to make something like this?

How about some type of sled like these?

Spray on bedliner? I think it could work as long as you got good coverage, the only problem I can see is adhesion to the fabric. I guess test it before hunting with it.

I like the Sled idea, with a decent paint job you could just run stubble over the edges of it..... may have to steal that idea..

I considered making something similar to the neotub. We try to hunt with the layout blind in most situations as it allows you to get closer to the birds. IMO layout hunting is the most enjoyable.

Anyways, long story short I went through alot of time, money and effort for not a lot of productivity. I found neotubs online for a great sale price. I picked up two of them and have never looked back. Best thing I ever did.

Checkout this months wildfowl mag. A guy uses a large plastic water tank used to water livestock.

Same idea as a sled but I bit bigger maybe.

Its a good idea but no where near as portable like a sled is.

Get a hold of tom at four rivers layout boats. He just got out of mold a huge decoy sled that has the option of flip open doors and a stubble strap cover for the sled. So u get a sled and layout blind in one set up
