Last couple of years they have only killied a few geese in the controlled zone, the fields look and have been crappy!!! Most of the birds are using private and year before last most geese stayed on the pits, maybe you should try and hook up with marty and pay him for his guide service. Course I heard they were not doing all that good either....Good luck

i remeber the days when the Greenheads looked like a tornado over some of those fields trying to chase down the corn cobs!
With the new manager out there, and hopefully cooperation from the top, they might get it back to normal. I miss those days!
Good luck on your hunts!

My experience has been the birds go vertical off the ponds to oxygen level, then to the private fields and straight down. Reverse in the evening. Hopefully it will be different this year.

I have some friends from Fallon that drew 4 yeas in a row. Drew different fields each years, have some great decoys, are above average callers and they got 3 birds over the 4 years. I wish the best of luck. Maybe this is the year for you.

Im really excited about going but I don't know if I have the heart to tell her that her calling sounds like a goose that enjoys cigars and whiskey .....but its all the same to be out there with her and see her face and watch eyes light up!

I guess the biggest question for the controlled goose hunt is, did they actually grow some corn out there this year? What condition are the fields in?

No corn and 4 fields of wheat that they harvested the first week of Aug. The deer, quail and doves cleaned that up any drops already.

We got drawn for this coming Wednesday 12/5. I have been out in the area on a couple occasions over the last month heard a few geese but hadn't seen anything. Hope it comes together this week. Was a big full moon earlier in the week when I was last out there and that can put a real damper on daytime bird movement.
Just because the weather is too bad to go to work, tell me again why I shouldn't go hunting
