Aluminum Welder in Maryland?

Postby scfisher » Mon Nov 05, 2012 9:45 am

Just bought a new set of Beavertail pods for my boat. Checked with one shop that wanted $350 for the install. When reading reviews and other forums of guys around the country it seems that most places were asking $100 to $150. Its tough to pay $350 to do an install on a pair of $200 pods. Does any one know someone who can weld on aluminum boats that does not charge an arm and a leg?

E.R. Harvey Metal Working
Easton, MD

I talked to them when I was going over the idea of putting an aluminum floor in my duck boat...they seemed knowledgable and priced reasonable.
I will use them for my project when the time comes.

I used Terry Porter below Sharpsburg, MD. I slammed by skeg on a rock, pre-rock guard, and split it up into the gear casing. Lucky I did not knock it off. Terry welded the skeg and both sides of the gear casing and then sanded inside the gear casing so good while checking for the gears fit that I did not even need to buy a new seal. I highly recommend him. He just charged by the hour.
