If you are new to calling, don't go overboard with expensive calls. RNT Quackhead calls are $25 and great to start learning on. Echo makes a cheap poly carbonate call that is also good. Get yourself a couple single reeds and double reeds to find one you really like. Faulks make good calls that cost less than $20. Companies make loud calls for open water and windy days, and softer calls for timber hunting and finishing close birds. When you have a style you like, premium calls can be well worth the money.
