It's weather trends lie LaNina. When El Nino takes effect we will be cold. But yes, this warm weather sucks. I wish it would warm some more then I could at least fish.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but La Nina is not present this winter. We are actually in a neutral/slight el Nino pattern right now. The upcoming warm spell is being caused by a negative Arctic Oscillation. Europe is going to get seasonally cold in the next week while we are going to be seasonally warm.

Yeah your right. But we still have plenty of time for it to get cold though. Hopefully by the Christmas is here the ponds will start to freeze up.

Actually feels like winter a little bit. Once the sun goes down the temps go with it.

Hiked on the potomac river and canal today and saw nothing, heard nothing. Just a few ducks on the local ponds. First chance of snow is Christmas Eve as of now. That's a loooooong way off.

It's 70 degrees down here again today. Ridiculous. Although every time I look at the propane tank outside, I smile.

Late season opener next week and ill be hunting around home for a few days. Then Ill be on the bay sea duckN next weekend. The week of Christmas when it finally gets cold here, ill be in the south chasing pintails, cinnamon teal, and ive been promised the fulvous tree ducks are like mallards up here so I should be able to check that off my bucket list. Ill come back for 2 weeks and have all my spots loaded with birds that all the other nice hunters pushed to my spots while i was gone. Once ive shot all those spots out, Ill be heading south to NC to fill my tundra swan tag and hunt some flooded corn impoundments for ducks. Mother Nature and I are about to take the gloves off, and the weather can do all she wants, but I have my battle plan laid out for the next month.

I was banking on this weather sticking around til tomorrow so i could have an excuse to get rained out of work and hunt. But it looks as though I will be stuck at work all day. Good luck to everyone tomorrow. It looks like friday will be the first day I can get out to play

Good luck to those heading out tomorrow!! I won't be able to get out until Saturday. Weather is looking a bit better in my next of the woods for the next few days. Hopefully it'll hold throughout the week.
