Winter is time for the geese, goldeneyes, and greenheads. Lets see some photos from the bird hunts!

Lets see, heading out for my 41st waterfowl hunt of the season, average temp each hunt has probably been around 55 degrees. Snow on the ground for exactly one of those hunts, I would love to show some pics of winter hunting but would have to see some winter first. Waking up this morning to head out to a temp of 43 degrees with no wind where I'm headed, at 4am, 43 degrees. There have been more coots on the river then goldeneye's, I'm not very likely to shoot either of those so won't be able to help you out with pics of those.

37 hunts for me: a total of .5" of snow on one of those hunts. Maybe 8 of those hunts were below 30 degrees.

Not a lot of winter hunting going on.

Looks like another week or more of warm weather at least so you might have to wait a while on your picks. The best I can do is this one:

I'm still shooting spoonies and a few others but not really any mallards. Yesterday I did decoy a flock of 30-40 spoons so that was fun, only had one mallard come in I and missed it. There was more ducks around where I was hunting so that was nice at least compared to last weekend.

What, no pinnies yet Peter??? Btw, love the shot with the Subaru in the background, I'm guessing there was a 24 box of PBR in the back along with some fly rods...

Wasn't my subie...razzed my buddy to no end though apparently it "handles like a gem in the roughest of conditions & terrain"

That's what happens when you borrow your wife's vehicle

Had a fun sub-30 minute duck shoot this morning with a friend. Every greenhead that came into the decoys died this morning.

Great photos Nemont,...but I gotta ask, does the cameraman have a twitch that makes him cut everything to the right off or something? Kinda funny

Nah it is something to do with the size and only this website. I post on other websites and it doesn't cut off the right side like it does here.
If you right click on them and open in new tab you can view the whole pic.

I could go to trouble of resizing them all but I don't post here much and I only have that issue on this site.

Hunted a hay field with a large group of guys (7). Not a fan of large groups , especially when there is no cover or no wind, the birds were picking us apart bad. But we managed to kill a couple.

12-12-12 limit...one of these days I'll quit stopping my leads so I don't hit the hen following behind the drake.
