Those Axis' are good rifles. Cheap and accurate right out of the box! Great round choice too. My .308 is my coyote rifle.

hah my dad is repossessing his Rem 700 30-06 that ive been using for deer, now that I'm 19. and I feel its time to buy my own gun to play with, and throw a few parts on. might look into a Houge stock for this gun as well if I can find one, and a nice scope!

but there is always the possiblity I may come home with something else depending on what the Gun shop has, and the $$$ I have :lol3:

Picked up the .308 axis new! $299.09 OTD!

so far I like the detachable magazine, the stock does feel cheap but it'll do, it has a great recoil pad, and very smooth action for a cheaper rifle!

Took mine out for the first time and I have a super cheap barrowed 4-12x40 scope on it and had no problem hitting a 1/2in bulls eye at 100yds once sighted in, I was shooting a 150gr Nosler accubond bullets with 50grains of Reloader 7 behind them, Hand loaded.

Well guys, I might be building my own rifle. I've been talking with custom guns smiths/rifle builders about building a rifle and I think I'm going to attempt a build. If I do I'll be building a bolt action 22-250 off a Mauser action, 24" barrel, with a custom built stock built to my specs. I'll be doing all the work except some of the metal work that has to be done on a lathe as I don't have access to one. Wish me luck!!

It's not as hard as you might think. The hardest part will be building the stock.

IMO its easier! just have to be more precise if you want accuaracy. take brass lube and deprime/ resize it, clean, and prime it. then measure out your powder. I measure out 50gr of Alliant RL17 and then press in a bullet. easy if you dont buy new brass that you have to trim. measure to make sure you have your bullet set in the case correctly and reload the rest you have set out to do.

I would also suggest that you guys interested in rifle reloading, to stay away from Hornady bullets. the Hornady bullets have about a +/- 3gr variance between the bullets, where as they Nosler's I get now are spot on at 150gr every time.

we also have a shotgun reloader...... well 3 different shotgun reloaders (2x12ga and a 20ga). and 4 die sets for the rifle.

It is a great gun, just be sure you get all of the packing grease out of it and oil it good. After that, mine hasnt failed yet.
