Anyone seen any Teal

Postby Webfoot12 » Fri Aug 25, 2006 9:03 am

I went out looking the other day and did not see a bird. I'm going to check a few other places this weekend but unless we get some cooler weather it might be pretty slow.

I hope everyone is getting some rain now and throughout this weekend.

Have a good weekend,

Michael

Haven't seen anything in SE Missouri, but I wasn't planning on going anyway because of the damn mosquitos! :pissed:

I've got a half dozen or so that come to my pond several days a week. A few miles from me is a 45 acre lake with about 200 on it.
I'll start treating my wife as good as my dog when she starts fetching ducks.

I went fishing sun and saw about 100 using a stip pit down by La cyne power plant. They were all blue wings and got my blood pumping  . September 9 can not come soon enough.

Saw a few last night. Nothing too impressive though. We need a cold snap like we had last year.

Got stir crazy and went scouting today. Saw a few groups, but nothing to get too excited about. I'm willing to bet it won't be great until the last week of the season.

I had around 40 BWT come in to my pond this morning while dove hunting. It was all I could do not to blast away!! I saw around 250-300 other teal flying this morning also.

H2Okiller, what part of the state are you from? Did you see any high flyers?

I live about 50 miles SE of KC.

I saw alot of high flyers and quite a few low workable birds.

It was really odd to me to see the BWT. I usually only see GWT. When I do see the BW they are usually in late season.

My experience is usually the reverse...BW early, then GW later in the season. I really like GWs anyway, fun to shoot, pretty to look at, and good to eat!

Hey, did you grab the blind bag with the shells when we left the truck?
Safetys, use them: If you can see red, you can get dead!

I saw lots of BWT this morning. I had a few birds work and come on in. I think there will be more tonight after this front gets thru.
